Credential Year Tuition Scholarship
In order to promote new teachers in the local area, the Fresno County (Division 10) California Retired Teachers Association is offering ten $6,000 tuition scholarships to attend National University, Fresno State, or Fresno Pacific University.
Each tuition scholarship will be awarded to a student in their fifth educational year working toward a multiple-subject or single-subject California Teacher Credential.
Applicant Requirements:
Earned Bachelors Degree by June 2026.
Enrolled in a fifth year teaching program in fall 2026.
Working toward becoming a K-8 or high school subject-matter teacher.
Intending to work in Fresno City or County area.
Complete the application. The online form is available now.
Applications must be completed entirely to be considered. This includes uploading a video, resume, and academic transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
Members of the Fresno County Retired Teachers Association will begin reviewing applications on June 1, 2026, for qualities essential for effective teachers, such as clarity and creativity, with a display of knowledge and understanding of resumes, teaching concepts, and videos.
Remember, you are being evaluated by retired teachers. Correct spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammer are essential components in your application!
Candidates will be considered on a first come, first served basis, and applications will not be accepted after June 30, 2026. Creativity and accuracy are essential for the proper evaluation of applications and possible disbursement of scholarship funds.
Applicant Requirements for $6,000 2026 Scholarships
Earned Bachelor of Arts by June 2026.
Enrolled in a fifth year teaching program.
Fresno State, National, or Fresno Pacific University
Enrolled in the fall semester this year.
Working toward being a K-14 teacher.
For tuition reimbursement.
Tuition Reimbursement:
The intent of the scholarship is to assist students who have paid tuition (or borrowed to pay) to a qualifying school and to offset tuition costs only. This scholarship is not intended for tuition paid for or reimbursed by an employer, a school district, or other teacher training program.
Documentation of tuition paid (and/or borrowed to pay) may be requested of scholarship recipients.
